Corporate Social Responsibility at Lalor O’Shea McQuillan
Here at Lalor O’Shea McQuillan we define ourselves not just by our success in business but by what we can do to care for and support our staff, clients, community and our environment. This is our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiative and it’s comprised of four areas where we continually strive to improve our performance.
We actively encourage equality, diversity, health and well-being at work. We offer flexi-time and a shorter working week to our employees. We provide fresh fruit on a weekly basis and encourage fitness by supporting our runners, walkers and cyclists in all their endeavours. We also participate in the Bike to Work scheme.
We constantly strive to grow and develop our business while minimising any negative impacts our activities might have on the local landscape and the wider environment. This includes a commitment to helping our clients adopt cloud-based accounting systems and to move towards paperless accounting practices.
Working with our suppliers and business partners we continually strive to source sustainable and ethically produced materials for accounts production and third-party integrations to our clients. In 2020 we aim to replace as many single-use plastics products as possible from our supply chain.
We actively support local charities and voluntary groups in a number of ways. We share our time and knowledge, become involved in community projects, provide sponsorship and fundraising to raise funds and awareness of great local initiatives.
In 2019 we identified a particular need in our community to support Carlow Relay for Life in aid of the Irish Cancer Society. We made this our goal for 2019, eventually raising €15,100 and enjoying many benefits in the process.
Our Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative has been adopted from guidelines laid down in Ireland’s National Plan on Corporate Social Responsibility (2017 – 2020).
